Memories of Faces
02:39
|
|||
I’ve come a long way seen so many days
Feels so long ago that I was bold
Walked wherever I found a road
Lived with no regret
The memory of faces draws me home
The memories of faces draw me home
In the time of learning the smooth white stone
A sky so blue with yearning for my own
Beneath the sense of longing for what I've known
The missing heart mementos pull at my bones
A moonlit evening's pale glow gently show'n
Misty ghosts upon the wind
The memory of faces draws me home
The memories of faces draw me home
In the time of learning the smooth white stone
A sky so blue with yearning for my own
A fire’s burning deep inside my soul
Fueled by the days of loss and pain
Heat light and anger draws the chain
Leads where I began
The memory of faces draws me home
The memories of faces draw me home
In the time of learning the smooth white stone
A sky so blue with yearning for my own
Memories Home

Night Run
03:43
|
|||
Waiting in the cold dusk wrapped in jittery light
One more tired pilgrim for the bus tonight
I breathe the unburnt diesel until the bus arrives
Then drag my battered bag up to the dark inside
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
Its riders lost in dreams
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
To what the future brings
Rattling windows shatter the glow of lights inside
While the cold winds sharpen and bite the metal hide
The hours stretch ahead cramped in the narrow seat
Air rich with cabin breath blows heavy arid heat
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
Its riders lost in dreams
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
To what the future brings
Some riders softly sing of all the gifts they bring.
Some riders half-awake rocked by each bump and shake.
From near and far they've come to join this frost touched run
I search the speeding dark for some familiar sign
All I see is shadows beyond the tire lines
Then like some lost outpost the lights of town shine bold
The bus shakes to a stop and I stand in the cold
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
Its riders lost in dreams
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
To what the future brings
A taxi prowls the stop brakes lights red on ice
Stale heat and smokers haze confuse the air inside
Til the salty windshield reveals the gentle swale
That tells me I have reached the end of this tale
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
Its riders lost in dreams
This dog runs through the night Heads north behind headlights
To what the future brings

Burning Season
03:40
|
|
||
Drill bit bites into the rock, like a key into a lock
Opens up a blazing door, dark fires burning at the core
Golden promise grabs our eye, its lure we cannot deny
But value will exact a cost and so our innocence is lost
I have lost so many friends, I long to hear their voice again
But memories soon fade away the burning seasons here to stay
The burning seasons here to stay
Wealth turns to ashes in our hand we’ve torn the anchor from the land
A bitter heat begins to grow our greed is there to feed its flow
Smoke bleeds from the open wound swells and rises the flag of doom
There's money in that smoke some people say each sacrifice the price we pay
I have lost so many friends, I long to hear their voice again
But memories soon fade away the burning seasons here to stay
The burning seasons here to stay
We’ve touched the fire down below our bodies shiver in the glow
It’s seldom seen and never known but it still will take us home
It pulses in us when we sleep the scars it leaves are hidden deep
No cold has breath to dull its heat our lives surrender to the beat
I have lost so many friends, I long to hear their voice again
But memories soon fade away the burning seasons here to stay
The burning seasons here to stay

Powder
02:57
|
|||
In these old rocks and trees, I found
A refuge from the underground
The air was clean, the only sound
The leave’s soft fall as they turned brown
They told us it was safe, but the powder stung our eyes
We were walking ghosts we just did not realize
Our health was a problem to be cast aside
And buried underneath a thousand little lies
The summer’s sky echoes the loon
While silver water distracts the moon
I worked with pride and skill each day
I thought the risks were worth the pay
They told us it was safe, but the powder stung our eyes
We were walking ghosts we just did not realize
Our health was a problem to be cast aside
And buried underneath a thousand little lies
We thought that we could trust the owners with our health
How could we imagine they would trade it for mere wealth?
Breathe the powder deep boys get it in your lungs
It’s better than the rock dust trust me on this one
I’ve walked this bush a thousand times
I knew where every path was lyin'
That’s slipped away into the mist
We had to swallow before the shift
They told us it was safe, but the powder stung our eyes
We were walking ghosts we just did not realize
Our health was a problem to be cast aside
And buried underneath a thousand little lies
I'm buried underneath a thousand little lies

Walking On Walls
03:05
|
|||
I was walking on walls it seems like yesterday
There was always another way
I was walking on walls it seems like yesterday
There was always another way
To find my heart’s desire
There was a hotter fire
And every hope seemed higher
Never thought I’d lose so much I'd feel so out of touch
Always seemed my reach was bigger than enough
I was searching the night to change the life I had
But all I found was bright and sad
I was searching the night to change the life i had
But all I found was bright and sad
At first it caught my eye
Flashing lights to mystify
Then I saw the lie
Never thought I’d lose so much I'd feel so out of touch
Always seemed my reach was bigger than enough
I was dreaming of luck the chance to show my stuff
I’d always come through in the clutch
I was dreaming of luck the chance to show my stuff
I’d always come through in the clutch
And keep up in the race
I thought I’d never face
The cold without a place
Never thought I’d lose so much I'd feel so out of touch
Always seemed my reach was bigger than enough
